Background

Daniel is an epidemiologist who joined the Department of Medical Informatics at Erasmus MC in November 2020. He previously worked on spatial epidemiology of infectious diseases and health care accessibility in low and middle-income countries. His contributions helped improving cluster detection of various infectious diseases and optimising primary care service delivery at national and sub-national level in several countries including Malawi, South Sudan, and Democratic Republic of Congo.

As part of the Health Data Science team, Daniel is looking at using spatial modelling and machine learning for patient-level prediction. He holds a bachelor in Political Sciences from the University of Geneva (2014) and a MSc in Global Health from the University of Copenhagen (2016).
